Boys U13-1999
Rising U12 Boys - 1999 Patriots Premier

The Rising U12 Boys, 1999 Patriots Premier are entering their 5th season together as a group.  The team is the most successful in the Club’s 35 year history.  The boys have won 16 tournaments from Maryland to NJ as well as the PA Indoor State Cup and Outdoor State Cup in 2009.  In 2010, the team hired Gavin Flannigan to be their full time Trainer and Coach.  For 5 years prior to joining UMNSC, Gavin, from Darlington, UK, was a lead trainer for Total Soccer Training Academy in Lambertville, NJ.

The 1999 Premier Boys are a highly competitive teams and regarded as one of the best teams in the northeast.  The team trains year around with Gavin and plays the highest competition available in the best events on the best fields.  Gavin’s philosophy is development based and not results based which leads to the team playing an incredibly aesthetic game of soccer.

More recently, the team competed in the MAPS league against top competition and ended the season with an 8 – 1 – 3 record.  They capped their season with a victory in the Hempfield Classic while playing in the U12 age bracket.  In 2011, 7 players were selected by EPYSA to join the Olympic Development Program where they train with the best players in the state on a weekly basis.

U11 Boys Premier Win 2nd State Cup Title!

The Board of Directors of UMNSC would like to congratulate the U11 Patriots Premier Boys for winning their 2nd PA State Cup Title in 3 years (They also won an Indoor State Cup Title in 2009).  The Patriots defeated a valiant Montgomery Arsenal side 3 - 1 to earn the Clubs 3rd State Cup Title in as many years (The 1998 Girls won last year).  Stephen Schmitt, Ben Greenstein and Conner Sweeney scored goals for the Patriots.

This Team has been an example of sportsmanship and quality soccer for 4 years. They are widely regarded as one of the Eastern Region’s best teams and set a wonderful example for our younger players.

Team Captures 1st Ever State Cup Title in UMNSC History!

In Spring 2009, the Upper Makefield Patriots (Red) U9 Boys claimed the 1st State Cup Championship in the history of Upper Makefield Newtown Soccer Club today with a thrilling 2 - 0 victory over perennial soccer power Lower Merion Soccer Club.  This win comes on the heels of the U9 Boys Indoor State Cup title in January.

The Patriots got off to a fast start as Dean Rubakh buried a diving header into the corner off a beautiful pass from Conner Fife.  It was simply a world class goal and it occurred in the game’s 1st minute and it set the tone for the day.  The Patriots added to their lead mid-way through the second half as Coner O’Donnell fed Matt McAlister with a beautiful pass and McAlister beat the Lower Merion keep with his left foot to send the Patriots into the half up 2 - 0.

The second half was more of the same as the Patriots continued to apply the pressure hitting the cross bar and post to go along with some magnificent saves by the Lower Merion keeper.  Andrew Lutshcaunig kept his cool in the nets for the Patriots adding another clean sheet to his record.  As the whistle sounded a huge celebration ensued on the field as the boys piled on top of each other celebrating their Championship.

This group of boys from Upper Makefield is unique and special.  Very rarely does a club of this size produce such quality.  Their skill, desire, heart, hustle, love of the game and most importantly love for each other is to be commended.  As they approach their third year of play, they take with them a record (including losing 2 of their 1st 3 games in 2007) of 61 wins, 3 losses, and 2 draws. They also have won 8 tournaments from Maryland to NJ, an Indoor State Cup and now an Outdoor State Cup.   Special thanks to these boys for representing our Club with pride and dignity.
